NEW Vaccines Policy 02/20/2017

The pediatricians at Bloomfield Pediatric Care want to provide the best protection for your children, our other patients, as well as our staff and providers from preventable illnesses. We have made the decision to only accept new families into our practices who plan to fully immunize their children according to the Center for Disease Control and American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines. If your child is behind on the recommended immunizations, the office may contact you or we ask that you discuss this with your child’s provider at their next visit.

Policy Change for Appointments

Due to rising covid19 concerns, we are currently allowing one parent in the office for all visits, with the exception of newborns. Newborns will be allowed to have both parents present in the exam room. If you have visits scheduled on the same day with two providers, you may have two parents as a child under 18 must have a parent accompany them. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Our goal is to keep your child, you and the staff as safe as possible. We hope to return to normal soon. Please contact the office should you have any questions regarding the new policy change. All persons entering the building, age 2 and older, must wear a mask at all times.

The pediatricians at Bloomfield Pediatric Care want to provide the best protection for your children, our other patients, as well as our staff and providers from preventable illnesses.  We have made the decision to only accept new families into our practice who plan to FULLY immunize their children according to the Center for Disease Control and the American Academy of Pediatrics. If your child is behind on the recommended immunizations the office may contact you or we ask that you discuss this with your child’s provider at their next visit.

We believe in the safety and benefits of childhood immunizations. We  follow the American Academy of Pediatric guidelines for immunizations. We stay informed about newly published studies and have not seen any studies that lead us to support the delay of immunizations or the use of alternative immunization schedules. Alternative immunization schedules leave children unprotected at the most vulnerable ages.

Patient-Centered Medical Home

Bloomfield Pediatric Care earns patient-centered medical home designation from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Nation’s largest PCMH program transforming primary care in Michigan.

Blue Cross blue Shield of Michigan has designated Bloomfield Pediatric Care as of 2018 patient-centered medical home practice.  The designation period runs from July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019.

This means they are among a select group of physicians who are improving primary care in Michigan by adopting the PCMH model of care.

” The patient-centered medical home is health care centered on the patient,” said Maureen A. Kelly, MD.  “We take a holistic and comprehensive approach to patient care helping you meet your health goals and keeping track of all your specialist visits, test results and prescriptions.”

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan has designated roughly 1,550 primary care practices-with more than 4,340 primary care doctors-as PCMH practices.  The program is the largest of its kind in the country and has the potential to affect close to 2 million Michigan residents.

With the PCMH model, we create care teams that work with you to keep you healthy and monitor your care on an ongoing basis.

We coordinate your health care using registries to track your conditions and ensure you receive the care you need.  We offer you more access to the care team, coordinate complimentary care (such as nutrition counseling) and help you better manage conditions like asthma and diabetes.

A recent analysis of Blue Cross claims data shows that PCMH-designated doctors are succeeding in more effectively managing patients” care to keep them healthy and prevent complications.
